Ongoing yoga classes at yogaconcepts include ashtanga yoga, The Knowing Flow™ vinyasa style developed by Jane and hatha yoga.

Ashtanga yoga

Ashtanga is a dynamic yoga style linking the breath to movement (vinyasa flow). It incorporates a series of progressive postures with experienced individuals jumping from one posture to the next.
The practice realigns the posture, builds stamina, flexibility and strength in the upper torso, shoulders, core area, legs, hips and other parts of the body.
Focused, even inhalation and exhalation using ujjai breathing linking breath to movement and eye-focus (dristi) cultivates meditation whilst in motion.
The bandhas (locks) are engaged throughout much of the practice directing prana through the energy lines of the body (nadis) as well as giving lightness and internal strength to the poses. Awareness of the bandhas also keeps you in the present.
There are three bandhas: mula - pelvic floor and perineum muscles, uddiyana - abdominal and diaphragm, ribs, and intercostals and the jalandhara in the throat area.
The overall practice realigns the posture, cultivates awareness, strength, flexibility, develops a calm, focused mind, overall wellbeing and the experience of following a pathway to self-realisation.

Ashtanga means eight limbs and embodies the traditional eight limbs from Patanjali's yoga sutras. These sutras (stitches of the mind) written some 2000 years ago are an incredible study of the mind and gives us steps to attain spiritual freedom - enlightenment.

Shri Pattabi Jois, the current guru of Ashtanga introduced this style of hatha yoga to the western world where it has become increasingly popular.

The Knowing Flow™ yoga vinyasa

Designed by Jane Ribinskas “The Knowing Flow™” yoga style is a dynamic vinyasa (moving breathing linked) flow. The sequence consists of standing, balancing, seated, twisted reclining and inverted asana postures, finishing the flow with shavasana.
The essence of the practice is to shift the energy from the base chakra (energy centre situated at the base of the etheric spine) to the knowing or intuitive space of the awareness beyond mind.
The knowing space has been scientifically proven to be the part of the brain where we naturally know what is right and what our true potential is rather than being clouded by the thinking mind that can often be influenced by fear and doubt. When you tap into this space there is no longer any doubt, you just breathe and experience love, wisdom, health, happiness, wealth and prosperity.
The sequence rewires the energy circuits. The body and mind are one and all thoughts and memories - positive and negative - are stored on an energetic and molecular level. This practice facilitates releasing emotional blocks on a cellular level, freeing you from limitations of the past.
This flow further develops strength and flexibility and cultivates calmness.
Allow the body to be filled with, love, knowing, freedom, feel the energy rise, feel alive.
By being linked to the present and living fully in the now you are liberated from the trappings of the limited mind. Expand, grow, be in the now. Cultivate your changed state.

Pre-natal and post-natal yoga 

Prenatal and postnatal courses are designed to suit the students in the class and the stage of pregnancy or post pregnancy. The prenatal programs are a softer style of yoga with a more relaxing, meditative influence to help you tune into your baby and body. The postnatal yoga will also help you gently tone and strengthen your body after pregnancy.

Yoga for kids

This is lots of fun with music, costumes and laughter. Once again the program is targeted towards the age group and capability of the students . These groups are workshop based.
