- It is based on the principle that all parts of the body are reflected on the feet, hands and ears.
- A qualified reflexologist will use a combination of pressure techniques on these reflexes in order to address imbalances in the mind and body.
HOW DOES REFLEXOLOGY WORK? - Reflexology promotes balance in physical, mental, emotional and energetic levels of the body.
- Stress, toxins and illness create blockages inhibiting the flow of energy. These blockages also manifest in the corresponding reflex points in the feet and hands.
- Stimulation of congested reflexes assiats in clearing these blockages, allowing the flow of energy to be restored.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FORM A REFLEXOLOGY SESSION? - At your first session you will be given a brief explaination of reflexology, its benefits and possible reactions you may experience.
- Questions willbe asked regarding your health and lifestyle. You will be asked to remove all your footwear and your feet will be examined.
- The therapist will then gently relax your feet in preparation for working the reflex areas. The pressure used willbe adjusted to your sensitivity.
- The session will be disscussed with you and suggestions made for the best course of action to achieve your health goals.
- Sessions usally last 1 hour, this is subject, however, to age and state of health of the recipient, as well as the method of reflexology being used.
- A series of sessions may be required if the condition is of a chronic nature.
